Family-friendly policies are being hailed as the answer to the NHS’s recruitment and retention problems. John Northrop looks at the evidence FAMILY FRIENDLINESS is a major part of the Government’s strategy to recruit and retain nurses in the NHS. Jill Newton, the NHS Executive’s Head of Workforce Planning and Education, recently told the Health Select Committee that family friendliness was more important than pay as a means of recruiting and retaining nurses.
