Abstract
The preparation of sterile artificial liposomes (phosphatidylcholine: cholesterol: dicethylphos-phate = 5:5:1) by Millipore® filtration is described. Conditions for storing liposome entrapped Methotrexate have been found which allow storage of the drug in the entrapped form over a period of at least 4 months. It is shown that intravenously injected liposome entrapped Methotrexate is retained for at least 15 hours in the particulate form. During this time no free Methotrexate is detectable in the blood.Keywords
