Abstract
We report the amplification and overexpression of the IGFIR (insulin-like growth factor I receptor) gene in primary breast cancers with an amplification of band 15q26. The involvement of IGFIR, which may vary in frequency from 2-3% in unselected tumor series to more than 10% in breast cancers with hsr, may represent an important event in tumor progression. Keywords
