Abstract
The mechanism whereby a K infusion led to an elevation in the urine minus blood (U - B) PCO2 difference in alkaline urine of the rabbit was studied. Rabbits given 9.alpha.-flurohydrocortisone 16 h prior to study had a significantly higher U - B PCO2 than control rabbits. The U - B PCO2 was increased further after K infusion. The increased collecting duct H ion secretion in the rabbit may in part have been induced by mineralocorticoids and in addition have been influenced by increasing the K concentration. This publication has 13 references indexed in Scilit:
