Abstract
Kessane, the sesquiterpenoid oxide isolated from Japanese valerians, was assigned a stereostructure on the basis of its spectro-scopic and chemical studies and derivation from 2-epi-[alpha]-kessyl alcohol. On Huang-Minion reduction both [alpha]-kessyl ketone semicarbazone and isokessyl ketone gave the same product which is considered to be a mixture of kessane and isokessane. This publication has 1 reference indexed in Scilit:
