Abstract
Synopsis: On the basis of long term weather records, alternate wheat‐fallow and wheat‐sorghum‐fallow can be expected to produce more than 10 bushels of wheat per acre approximately 80% of the time. Continuous cropping can be expected to produce more than 10 bushels of grain only 50% of the time. Other calculated frequencies of yield occurrence similarly favored the use of fallow for dryland wheat production. Keywords
