Job Involvement as Obsession-Compulsion

Abstract
Intuitive conceptions of job involvement have difficulty accounting for empirical evidence that job involvement is not related to performance and that job-involved persons appear to be less sensitive to situational characteristics than do persons not job-involved. A view of job involvement as obsession-compulsion is offered as a way to explain these findings.Keywords
