Abstract
The number of role-conflicts in marriage, as revealed by an interview, was compared with the subject's self-happiness rating. A significant relationship was found. Males reported approximately 1/3 more conflicts than females, and also rated themselves slightly lower on happiness. There were significant differences between role expectations of self and mate and roles actually played, for both males and females. "It is highly speculative to make generalized statements about the results of this study due to the size and bias of the sample." (PsycINFO Database Record (c) 2006 APA, all rights reserved)
