Abstract
Using the technique of laser‐excited fluorescence, the ground state vibrational levels of CsH molecules are observed up to v″=14, corresponding to 60% of the dissociation energy from the lowest vibrational level. The highest vibrational levels previously observed (Almy and Rassweiler) have v″=2. A polynomial fit to the Birge–Sponer plot of the present data yields the following parameters for the ground state term values (in cm−1): ωe=891.0(4), xeωe=12.93(11), yeωe= 0.105(13) and zeωe=−0.00178(45). The extrapolation of the fit gives the ground state dissociation energy D0 as 2.08(6) eV.Keywords
