Abstract
Polarized Raman spectra reveal temperature dependent central peaks above Tc due to librational modes of ammonium groups. The corresponding order parameter of Ag symmetry explains the elastic anomaly of the paraelectric phase. The ferrielectric structure of the ordered phase has been tested by doping (NH4)2SO4 with Rb2SO4. The results support the order-disorder model for this phase transition. Keywords
