Abstract
Four cases of ruptured bronchus following closed chest trauma are described. All injuries resulted from motor vehicle accidents and were diagnosed and treated within 24 hours of admission to the hospital. A satisfactory result followed early suture repair of the ruptured bronchus in three cases. One patient died during pneumonectomy. The early diagnosis and treatment of the condition are discussed. Keywords
