Abstract
Analytical approximation formulas for τ and θ, valid for any exponentially screened Coulomb potential, are written down in terms of elementary functions. Comparison with exact numerical results for the “universal” potential shows an agreement within ± 3% for θ and ± 2% for τ over a wide range of energies and impact parameters. Keywords
