Abstract
As shown in a total of 3321 pairs of Black and White participants in the National Health and Examination Survey (NHANES I) of the Center for National Health Statistics, all carefully matched for ages, sex and income, the Black‐White difference in hemoglobin (Hgb) approximated 0.72 gm, a value very close to that recorded for adult premenopausal women alone and very close to that reported from the Ten‐State Nutrition Survey and for other recent nutrition surveys in the U.S.A.Keywords
