Abstract
This is a review paper which discusses in simple terms high-power klystrons, double-tuned circuits for reflex klystrons, noise in traveling-wave tubes and its reduction by velocity-jump or space-charge-wave deamplification, periodic magnetic focusing of electron beams, and the backward-wave oscillator. Keywords
