The Structure of the Crab Nebula-II: THE SPATIAL DISTRIBUTION OF THE RELATIVISTIC ELECTRONS

Abstract
A diffusion-loss model is proposed for the Crab Nebula. Relativistic electrons are produced near the centre of the nebula, diffuse outwards and lose energy by synchrotron radiation. Many of the observed features of the continuum emission may be explained in this way.
