Abstract
Complete gonadectomy in goldfish was performed through bilateral incisions with the fish anesthetized with dilute chloretone. In connection with a study of normal depigmentation 39 fish were operated on of which 26 survived to indicate that there was no relation between decoloration and the gonads. No study was made of secondary sex characters in these young fish. Regeneration of gonad material occurred to some degree in all cases. A brief review of fish gonadectomy is included. This publication has 4 references indexed in Scilit:
