Novel di-isopropylamino derivatives of trivalent phosphorus

Abstract
Reduction of (Pri 2N)2PCl with LiAIH4 in diethyl ether gives (Pri 2N)2,PH; reaction of Pri 2NPCl2, with Mg in boiling tetrahydrofuran gives either the cyclotetraphosphine (Pri 2N)4P4 or the 1,2-dichlorobiphosphine Pri 2NP(Cl)–P(Cl)NPri 2 depending upon the Mg:Pri 2NPCl2 mole ratio.
