Abstract
Steady resistive toroidal Tokamak equilibria are considered. It is shown that equilibria chosen for the analytic convenience are physically unrealistic in many cases. A procedure is demonstrated for calculated anomaly factors for the perpendicular resistivity and thermal conductivity given sufficient experimental data on a two-dimensional equilibrium. Boundary condition problems are discussed but not resolved. Finally it is shown that Tokamak equilibria with mean beta approximately 12% might be maintained in steady state by the standard Tokamak transformer action.
