Abstract
Incorporation of precursors into rat adrenal protein and RNA was inhibited in vitro by ACTH. No inhibition occurred in the presence of agents which interfered with steroidogenesis. Corticosterone, at concentrations comparable to those produced in response to ACTH, likewise caused inhibition of precursor incorporation into RNA and protein of rat adrenal glands. It is thought that the inhibitory effects of ACTH are mediated by the corticosterone it produces. This publication has 3 references indexed in Scilit:
