Abstract
The complex [FeCl2(dmpe)2](dmpe = Me2PCH2CH2PMe2) dissolves in alcohols under dinitrogen to yield the dinitrogen complex [FeCl(N2)(dmpe)2]+. Reactions of [FeCl2(dmpe)2] with PhCCH yield the interconvertible acetylide and vinylidene complexes [FeCl(CCPh)(dmpe)2] and [FeCl(CCHPh)(dmpe)2]+, the structures of which have been determined. Related complexes of Et2PCH2CH2PEt2 have been prepared, as well as similar complexes containing ligands such as MeNC, CO, etc. Keywords
