Changes in Renal Blood Flow and PAH Extraction During Extracorporeal Circulation of Short and Long Duration: Experimental Study in Dogs

Abstract
Renal behaviour was studied in a series of 24 dogs before and during cardiopulmonary bypass of short and long duration. There was a definite reduction in renal blood flow, PAH extraction, and urinary output, which became more pronounced as the duration of perfusion progressed beyond 2 hr.
