Effect of Isoniazid upon the Reactivation of Inactive Tuberculosis1

Abstract
The administration of isoniazid for 2 years to patients with inactive tuberculosis was effective in reducing the frequency of reactivation, not only during the period of drug administration, but also for a 2-year period after it was discontinued. However, as was concluded in a previous report, a large-sclae program to find and treat patients with inactive tuberculosis in the general population is considered impractical.
