Abstract
The optical rotatory power and Faraday rotation were measured in crystals of 17Bi2O3: Ga2O3, 7Bi2O3: ZnO, Bi12TiO20, Bi12GeO20, and Bi12SiO20 in the wavelength range 400 to 700 nm at room temperature. Our crystals were enantiomorphs of those reported previously. The large Verdet coefficients indicate that these crystals are potentially useful as magneto‐optic modulator materials. Keywords
