A 2 X 2 Factorial with Paired Comparisons

Abstract
The method of paired comparisons by ranking in incomplete blocks of size 2 is extended to the factorial design. The model is constructed for a general factorial and an explicit solution for the 2x2 case is derived. A numerical example is used to illustrate the computations and the tests of significance. An analogy is drawn between this technique and factorial chi-square analysis.
