Abstract
The finding of an unusual concentrating ability of cardiac muscle for magnesium-28 compared to skeletal muscle was confirmed. An extension of this observation showed that the interventricular septum had an even greater ability to concentrate magnesium-28 as compared to the left and right ventricular walls. Studies of isolated Purkinje system in two calves made it unlikely that the distribution of this specialized tissue was the explanation for the distribution of magnesium-28 in the different portions of the ventricles. Keywords
