Abstract
Patients (18) with retinal detachment from macular holes were treated by intraocular injections of silicone oil after vitrectomy. Successful reapplication was obtained in all cases operated upon by primary intention (12 of 12). This procedure requires no coagulation around the hole, as employed by other methods, avoiding enlargement of the central scotoma.
