Abstract
A series of nickel complexes N[graphic omitted]F(X)[Me·C(CH2EPh2)3](X = F, H, or CF3; E = P or As) containing tripodal ligands has been prepared. Treatment of P[graphic omitted]F2(AsPh3)2 with 1,1,1 -tris(diphenylphosphinomethyl)ethane affords the related platinum compound [graphic omitted]F2[Me·C(CH2PPh2)3]. The complex [graphic omitted]F2[Me·C(CH2PPh2)3] does not react with tetrafluoroethylene whereas the arsine analogue readily yields [graphic omitted]F2[Me·C(CH2AsPh2)3] by a ring-expansion reaction. The latter exchanges the arsine ligand with Me·C(CH2PPh2)3 or PPh3 to give [graphic omitted]F2[Me·C(CH2PPh2)3] and [graphic omitted]F2(PPh3)2, respectively. Keywords
