Abstract
Furosemide, a newly synthesized diuretic agent, was given to 14 patients with renal insufficiency in 22 courses of therapy. All cases were refractory to prior diuretic therapy. In 18 courses of therapy there was a complete diuretic response and in 4 courses, there was an incomplete response. Unlike currently available diuretic agents, this compound has been demonstrated to be safe in this series and effective in the presence of depressed glomerular filtration, acidosis, alkalosis, and hypoalbuminemia. This publication has 7 references indexed in Scilit:
