Abstract
Re-lationships between the spp. placed in the plant genera Claytonia L and Montia L. are reexaminrd with regard to life-form and habit, flower structure and ovule number, pollination biology and pollen morphology, and distribution and ecology. The 2 genera and the sects, within each are redefined and evolutionary trends are suggested.Keywords
