Abstract
DIABETES MELLITUS is the most common cause of neuropathy in the Western world.1 In a cohort of 4400 patients with diabetes studied for 20 to 25 years, 45% developed neuropathy during the course of their disease.2 Improved methods to determine the incidence, prevalence, and course of diabetic peripheral neuropathy have been precisely described and applied in large longitudinal studies.3-13 Pain due to diabetic neuropathy affects the feet and anklesKeywords
