Abstract
The photochemical reactions of formamide with acetylenes are described. With terminal acetylenes the major products are 2 : 2 adducts (I) whereas with a non-terminal acetylene a 1 : 2 adduct (IV) is obtained. A three-component free-radical reaction of formamide, an olefin, and an acetylene is described. A free-radical mechanism is proposed for these reactions. Keywords
