Abstract
Workers of a mound-building ant nest were marked and the nest monitored. Over 715 min of observation, a mean recapture rate of 0.24 was obtained. The frequencies of resighting marked ants at or very near to their marking stations ranged from 0.79–1.00 (X̄ = 0.93). Foragers return to the same area daily while those engaged in nest reconstruction repeat their established activities with a high degree of fidelity. This publication has 3 references indexed in Scilit:
