Abstract
Summary. A rapid test for the identification of phenol‐degrading bacteria was devised using a medium containing phenol as the sole source of carbon and energy. Degradation of phenol in such a medium was assessed by growth and change in pH value. The results obtained are in agreement with those obtained by methods requiring chemical analysis of phenol in spent culture fluid. This publication has 5 references indexed in Scilit:
