Abstract
Ten consecutive cases of hydatid cysts of the brain are presented. Absence of mortality and of significant morbidity is claimed on the accurate preoperative diagnosis with the help of CT [computed tomography] and improved surgical techniques leading to unruptured removal of all the cysts. Pathognomonic CT changes of hydatid cysts of the brain is stressed and evolution in the therapy of this CNS lesion is discussed. A solitary hydatid cyst of the brain is now considered a benign affection; it removed unruptured, the patient would make complete recovery.
