Abstract
The velocity differences and variations are interpreted assuming continued ejection. Of the absorption systems, the Orion system can be supposed to be formed in the ionized part of the envelope, and the principal and diffuse enhanced systems in the neutral part. Certain difficulties of models of this sort are discussed. Motion below the photosphere is also considered, and it is shown that radiation pressure is probably a very important factor. Difficulties however still occur in the interpretation of observed velocity variations.
