Abstract
A new type of parameter invariance problem for linear systems is proposed. The performance measure for which invariance is desired is taken as an integral of a quadratic form in the state. Necessary and sufficient conditions for invariance are obtained. The results are interpreted and used to make an observation concerning parameter invariance in optimal control systems. Keywords
