Abstract
A program to improve compliance with clinic appointments among a group of habitual noncompliers living in poor inner city areas was developed with college students as visitors to their homes. Ninety-five percent of the appointments made by the outreach workers were kept by this low cost program. Prior to the intervention of the worker this group of patients had kept only 39% of their appointments. It is suggested that university connected outpatient clinics would do well to investigate the feasibility of employing undergraduate students in similar programs. Keywords
