Abstract
Granulomatous skin lesions were identified in a population of yellow perch (Perca flavescens) from Sandy Lake(Alberta, Canada) in 1985. Severe granulomatous peritonitis and hepatitis was identified subsequently in a separate population of yellow perch from Wolf Lake (Alberta, Canada). Mycobacterium chelonae was isolated from affected fish in both epizootics. The source and route of infection were not determined in either case. The nature of the inflammatory reaction in both cases suggested a depressed immunity. This publication has 5 references indexed in Scilit:
