Improved apparatus and methods for quantitative hydrogenation

Abstract
Summary: Improved apparatus and techniques for the measurement of olefinic unsaturation by quantitative hydrogenation are described. These involve use of Mason's sample‐introducing device, ofn‐alkyl esters of mono‐basic fatty acids as solvents, and of palladium‐carbon catalysts, thereby speeding up the determination, improving their precision, and extending their utility.
