Abstract
Preview Most women know that alcohol consumption and pregnancy do not mix. But some pregnant women choose to drink anyway, and the effects on the fetus can be devastating. In this article, Dr Bratton discusses the clinical manifestations and economic impact of fetal alcohol syndrome and emphasizes the importance of screening for alcohol use and counseling against it during routine prenatal care. Keywords
