Abstract
Childhood constipation is a common problem yet clinical management is often inappropriate and ineffective. The development of a nurse-led clinic, which is able to provide consistent advice, support and education, is ideally placed to overcome some of the challenges. This article outlines some of the essential issues that need to be considered when setting up such a service. It also identifies potential benefits to the nursing profession and the consumer. Keywords
