Abstract
Most of the radiogenic argon took part in the formation of the atmosphere in the period preceding the time at which differentiation of the mantle and crust was sufficiently accomplished. Argon was one of the first constituents of the terrestrial atmosphere and has acted from the very beginning as a screen for X-rays and ultraviolet radiations at wavelengths less than 800 A.Keywords
