Abstract
Nasturtium officinale was shown to be a long-day species. The number of pinnae per leaf was not significantly affected by day-length, but the intemodes of the main stem elongated more and fewer branches were formed in long days than in ohort days. A late-flowering strain of N. officinale was selected and is being used in a breeding programme. Keywords
