Abstract
Naturally occurring polymorphisms at positions involved in resistance to antiretroviral agents are frequently seen in HIV-1 non-B subtypes. Although they do not seem to affect significantly the susceptibility to antiretroviral drugs in vitro, they may facilitate the selection of different pathways and/or a more rapid emergence of drug resistance and treatment failure under not fully suppressive treatment regimens. Keywords
