Abstract
Changes in the received phase of a modulated signal propagating in an optical fibre can be used to monitor strain induced in the fibre with high sensitivity. Varying the frequency of the source allows the measurement of fibre length. A single-ended technique using a very stable frequency source is presented here.Keywords
