Abstract
The efficacy of ivermectin against the somatic larval stages of Strongyloides ransomi was evaluated in three trials involving 35 pregnant gilts harbouring induced infections. Treatment at a rate of 300 micrograms/kg bodyweight subcutaneously, four to 16 days before farrowing, was highly effective as judged by counts of larvae in milk and worm burdens of piglets. Keywords
