Abstract
This chapter looks at the health service policy network. It describes the evolution of formal organizational and managerial frameworks within the National Health Service (NHS). It also emphasizes the dominant nature of professionalized networks rather than the political or managerial influences on both the pattern and provision of health care within the NHS.
