Papillary Eccrine Adenoma

Abstract
To the Editor.— In the May 1977 issue of the Archives (113:596-598) Rulon and Helwig described a previously unrecognized adnexal neoplasm, the papillary eccrine adenoma. We would like to report an additional case with a clinical photograph. Report of a Case.— A 43-year-old woman had a nodule on her right leg of at least 20 years' duration. There had been no recent change in the lesion. She had noted occasional discomfort, but no other symptoms. Fig 1.—Flesh-colored nodule rounded by hyperpigmentation. Fig 2.—Numerous various-sized ducts are lined by two-cell layer of epithelial cells with frequent intraluminal papillary projections (hematoxylin-eosin, original magnification ×15). On the anterior aspect of the right leg, there was a 1-cm freely movable, firm, flesh-colored nodule with some peripheral hyperpigmentation (Fig 1). The clinical diagnosis was dermatofibroma. The lesion was excised and had not recurred on follow-up at two months. The biopsy demonstrated a well-circumscribed dermal tumor
