Abstract
Polarized crystal spectra are reported for the trans-[Coen2Cl2]+ ion and the trans-[Co(1-pn2Cl2]+ ion in various crystals at temperatures down to 25°K. The spectra are analyzed in terms of several vibronic intensity gaining models. The optical activity of the latter compound has been used to establish the most appropriate analysis for that spectrum and this is then used in order to discuss the circular dichroism of that ion. Keywords
