Abstract
Rayleigh ratios and depolarizations at 4358 and 5461 Å, and refractive indices at 4358, 5461 and 5892 Å are reported for acetone + water mixtures at 25°C. The contribution from concentration fluctuations is significant only at low acetone concentrations (mole fraction <0.3). There is good agreement between density Rayleigh ratios calculated from the Eykman relation and those obtained by combining the light scattering data with literature vapour-pressure data. Experimental and theoretical anisotropic scattering contributions are compared. Keywords
